Twins Cruise Through Express

The Basics

Game 1

Score: Twins 11, Express 1 

Records: Twins 8-0, Express 0-6

The Lead: The Express struck first but the Twins took a big lead in the second inning and didn't look back as they defeat the Express in five innings.


How it happened:

  • The Express got on the board first with an early run in the first inning
  • The Twins took a big lead in the second inning. Hannah Mawyin, Baylee Cox, Kaylee Hoffman, and Justine Albin each recorded an RBI as they took the 5-1 lead
  • The Twins added to their lead with three runs in both the fourth and fifth inning
  • Sophomore Kaylee Hoffman kept the Express scoreless the rest of the game to take the victory
  • Hoffman pitched five innings allowing just one unearned run on four hits and one walk. She struck out four on her way to the win.
  • Sophomore Justine Albin went two for three with two RBIs
  • Freshman Holly Kleinmeier went two for four with two runs and two RBIs
  • Sophomore Baylee Cox went two for three and recorded a double and an RBI. Cox also picked up her fourth stolen base of the season

Score: Twins 12, Express 0

Records: Twins 8-0, Express 0-6

The Lead: The Twins score in every inning to shutout the Express in five innings


How it happened:

  • The Twins struck first to take an early 1-0 lead in the first inning
  • They added five to that in the second inning to take a big 6-0 lead after two
  • The Twins continue to score in each inning and get the victory over the express in five innings
  • Freshman Claire Filak earned the win for the Twins pitching five scoreless innings. She finished allowing just three hits and striking out eight
  • Freshman Jenna Poulsen picked up three RBIs going two for three at the plate with a double and a triple
  • Freshman Holly Kleinmeier went two for three and picked up an RBI on a double
  • Sophomore Kaylee Hoffman hit her third home run of the season to contribute in the win


The Twins will be back home this weekend when they take on Corning Community College. That game will take place April 7th with the first game beginning at 1 pm.
